Born in the crisis of 2020. Rooted in Wakiso. Building the future of Uganda, one child at a time.
Fecane Child Foundation was not born in a boardroom; it was born in the dust of Wakiso during the global lockdown of 2020. When the world shut down, we saw our neighbors struggling to find food and basic hygiene supplies. We couldn’t look away.
We started with a simple mission: protect the vulnerable from COVID-19. But we quickly realized that the virus was temporary, but the poverty was permanent. What began as an emergency soap distribution has grown into a movement to educate, empower, and uplift the next generation of Wakiso.
We believe there is a profound difference between charity and dignity. Charity is giving a child a pair of shoes. Dignity is ensuring that child has the education to one day buy their own shoes—and build a shoe factory for their community.
