Volunteering opportunity

Fecane volunteers will enjoy an extremely unique experience not only in the work but also in the atmosphere they live in. You will be made to feel at home and you will taste all the different cultural foods, see their dancing and have the opportunity to join in. You can go for walks to adventure, Uganda has plenty for you to be doing during your time off, from white water rafting to on foot safaris. We accept volunteers without discrimination of race, colour, tribe and religious denominations. Age limit for the volunteers is between 18 (no maximum age limit)

The tasks undertaken will depend on their level of experience and qualifications. Volunteers may include, but are not limited to Sports and Physical Education trainers to train our vulnerable kids, youths and community members especially the youth in different sports disciplines both indoor and outdoor games like football, netball or volleyball.

Wakiso, Uganda

6months (flexible start date)

$1000 USD per month (covers accommodation, meals, and project expenses)

Volunteers will be provided with  self-contained accommodation  in a safe and comfortable volunteer house located within close proximity to our project sites. The accommodation includes basic amenities such as electricity, running water, and internet access.

Volunteers will be responsible to train our vulnerable kids, and the community especially the youth in different sports disciplines both indoor games and outdoor games. They can organise sport events and challenges, so beneficiaries interact in competitions.

  1. Minimum Age: 18 years old (no maximum age limit)
  2. Education: A background in community development, international relations, education, healthcare, or a related field is preferred.
  3. Experience: Previous volunteer or work experience in a developing country is an asset but not required.
  4. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
  5. Language: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Luganda or another local language is a plus but not mandatory.
  6. Health: Volunteers must be in good physical and mental health to participate in our programs.
  1. Interested candidates should submit a resume/CV and a cover letter outlining their relevant experience, skills, and motivation to volunteer with us.
  2. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a virtual interview to further assess their suitability for the position.
  3. Upon acceptance, volunteers will be required to pay a $300 USD non-refundable deposit to secure their placement, with the remaining fees due prior to their arrival in Uganda.
