As the sun sets on 2025, we look back at the streets of Wakiso and see something quietly powerful.
Not miracles overnight. Not perfection. But progress.
Where there was boredom, there is now a football pitch full of laughter. Where there was hunger, there is now a shared meal. Where children once felt forgotten, there are now dreams spoken out loud.
This is not just a report. It is a thank-you letter to every donor, volunteer, coach, and believer who stood with Fecane Child Foundation.
This is what we built together.
2023–2025: Impact at a Glance
- 320+ Children Supported (Football, Meals, Education)
- 180+ Scholastic Kits Distributed (Bags, Books, Uniforms)
- 900+ Meals Served (Training days & Outreaches)
- 120+ Training Sessions (Weekly drills & Holiday camps)
- 18 Community Matches (Promoting Peace & Unity)
I. The Foundation: Learning Begins with Belief

“Education Is Still the Strongest Equalizer.”
Many children in Wakiso don’t drop out because they are lazy. They drop out because they lack the weapons to fight for their future: a book, a pen, a bag.
Over the past three years, your support allowed Fecane to arm 180 children with scholastic materials. These simple tools shifted something deep inside them: Confidence.
They came to school prepared. They stayed longer. They tried harder.
The Sarah Effect: Meet Sarah (12). Before her kit, she skipped school often, embarrassed by what she didn’t have. Today, she attends consistently. She doesn’t just sit in class; she participates. She tells us she will be a teacher.
Sometimes, hope looks just like a backpack.
II. The Engine: Football as a Lifeline

“The Pitch Became Our Classroom.”
In the slums, football is more than a game. It is structure. It is discipline. It is belonging.
From 2023 to 2025, the pitch was the safest place in Wakiso. Through weekly sessions, holiday programs, and friendly matches, we kept children off the streets and gave them a team to believe in.
For many boys and girls, training days were the only days that made sense.
Football didn’t just train their legs. It shaped their character.
III. The Fuel: Food, Dignity & Community

“You Can’t Dream on an Empty Stomach.”
Hunger is quiet, but it is destructive. It steals focus and kills energy.
That is why we served over 900 meals. Whether it was after a hard training session or during a community outreach, these meals did more than fill bellies.
They brought us together. They built trust. They reminded every child: You matter enough to be fed.
Sometimes, the most powerful intervention is simply showing up with food.
IV. The Future: Skills That Pay Bills

“Charity is Good. Independence is Better.”
Football teaches us how to play. Education teaches us how to think. But in Wakiso, we also need to know how to survive.
We realized that to help the child, we often need to empower the mother—or the older brother who dropped out of school.
That is why we introduced Entrepreneurial Skill Training for girls, women, and boys. We moved beyond theory. We taught hands-on skills:
- Crafts and liquid soap making.
- Small business financial literacy.
- Turning small capital into steady income.
The Result: Young mothers finding a way to buy their own food. Boys learning that there is dignity in creating something with their own hands. Girls realizing their value isn’t just in marriage, but in the marketplace.
We don’t just want them to score goals. We want them to own their future.
IV. The Truth: Progress Is Messy

“We Choose Honesty Over Hype.”
We will not lie to you. It wasn’t easy. We don’t yet have our own pitch. We don’t have a permanent roof. We never have enough equipment for every single child.
Rain washed out our sessions. Limited funds forced us to make hard choices. Some plans had to wait.
But something beautiful happened when things got hard: The community stayed. Parents organized. Youth volunteered. The children kept showing up, rain or shine.
That’s when we learned the most important lesson of 2025: Fecane is not buildings or budgets. Fecane is people.
V. 2026: From Temporary to Lasting

“It is Time to Build a Home.”
For three years, we have borrowed spaces and moved equipment. We adapted. We survived. In 2026, we want to thrive.
Our Vision: To take the first steps toward a Permanent Fecane Community Center. A safe home for football, homework, and mentorship.
Not everything will be built at once. But every castle starts with one stone.
Close 2025 as a Hero.
You didn’t just donate money. You didn’t just like a post. You stood beside a child who needed to know they weren’t invisible.
As we step into 2026, walk with us. Help us grow. Help us reach the child we couldn’t reach this year.
DONATE TO SUPPORT FECANE’S 2026 VISION
Because hope is hard work. But together? We are harder to stop.
